Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Microlinks Extensions.

Most clients enjoy Microlinks Extensions for six to ten weeks before needing maintenance. Longevity depends on hair growth rate, activity level and care. We recommend check-ins every six to eight weeks to tighten links and adjust positioning for best comfort and appearance.

When installed and maintained by a trained stylist, Microlinks Extensions cause minimal damage. Properly matched weight, regular tightening and gentler styling reduce risk. If hair is weak, consult stylist first. Note: clients must supply their own hair for this service.

Yes — you can wash and style hair with Microlinks Extensions. Use sulfate-free products, avoid heavy oils at link sites, pat dry and detangle gently. Dry thoroughly to prevent slipping. Follow aftercare instructions and schedule regular maintenance appointments.

This service includes two to three rows of microlinks as standard — it's not a full-head install. Additional rows are available at extra cost. During consultation we'll assess placement to blend with your natural hair and achieve desired fullness.

Yes — you must bring the hair. I do not provide hair for any service. Bring high-quality, heat-resistant hair matched to your texture and color. We can advise on preparation, required lengths, and amount during your consultation.

Removal is done professionally by opening the micro links and sliding out extensions; never cut at the roots. Reinstallation may require fresh hair or link replacement depending on wear. Allow time for a removal appointment and follow-up reattachment if desired.
